The idea was to use a child's imagination as the magic in this animation and to have a little girl dressed as a fairy to give a literal nod to the 'fairytale' aspect of the brief. The girl, 'Hannah', is in her bedroom performing magic upon her assistant, 'Teddy'.
As she waves her wand, Teddy's colours and materials change, as if by magic. Some of the magic sparkle dust was added in After Effects. This gave me the opportunity to try out various texturing styles and to examine lighting and colour.
Hannah's magic backfires as Teddy suddenly grows and falls on top of her.
